Initiatives
The Multi-Unit Housing Initiative – Project RIGHT, Inc. has partnered with the residents of North Dorchester and Roxbury to combat illicit activity and improve the quality of life in the neighborhood of Grove Hall. Organizational partners to this initiative include: the Boston Police Department, MassHousing, property owners, management companies, security companies, tenant associations, community based organizations, neighborhood and tenant associations, and public officials. This initiative focuses on problem “hot spots” where drug trafficking, drug use, prostitution, loitering and other public safety problems thrive. This initiative entails working within multi-unit apartment buildings in partnership with tenants and other resident leadership to eliminate a public safety crisis involving persistent “hot spots” (area’s where negative and illegal activities happen) that impact upon the tenants and other residents of Greater Grove Hall.
Our strategy encompasses working with resident associations/groups and tenant associations within Greater Grove Hall to strengthen existing and future services to the youth and families of our community. Youth and families requiring services are referred to the “safe havens” where there are or will be service providers or to other partners and/or other community based, city, and state providers.

Electoral Advocacy: the Electoral Advocacy Campaign - RIGHTLEAD
& the Civic Engagement Initiative
The RIGHTLEAD and Civic Engagement Initiative (CEI) efforts entail working on electoral advocacy, voter turnout and mobilization efforts. Project RIGHT, Inc. provides the support and coordination for volunteers, neighborhood groups and our membership to work on electoral work and systematizing outreach within our community. By utilizing new voter identification technology and adopting an intensive, coordinated door-to-door approach to voter participation we are asking registered voters to take the a community pledge to vote. We will also register new voters with a special emphasis on ensuring that low-income residents, eligible newcomers from the immigrant community, and young voters are registered and mobilized. The campaign goals are:

  • Assist resident leaders and member organizations to understand and use the electoral and political tools to advance our community revitalization efforts.
  • Increase voter access, voter registration efforts, education and mobilization.
  • Network and collaborate with other citywide and statewide efforts.
  • Continue building upon and networking with elected officials on neighborhood projects and issues.
  • Create a new 501(c) (4) organization in Grove Hall – The RIGHT Democracy Institute.
We are currently working towards the complete renovation of an existing park on the corner of Quincy Street and Blue Hill Avenue.
