Project RIGHT, Inc.
‘Rebuild and Improve Grove Hall Together’ was established as an important strategy to increase the capacity of neighborhood resident groups, and community-based organizations to network and plan community driven activities to solve problems.
Since Project RIGHT’s inception, our mission has been to strengthen and
coordinate existing services and programs for the community through grassroots organizing of neighborhood residents. The collaborative helps our members to gather support and power to affect public policies that address area concerns. We also ensure that Grove Hall organizations receive our fair share of resources from the public and private sectors. Project RIGHT has used the organizing model to work on leadership development, public safety, housing, jobs, economic development, and electoral participation. We have formed a very strong and unique collaboration that has been highlighted as a national model.
South Africa Visit
In February of this year the Barr Foundation honored Jorge Martinez, and eleven
other seasoned non-profit leaders with three-month sabbaticals, during which
we traveled through South Africa and Zimbabwe. We learned a great deal from
our hosts, and more importantly, from each other.
